What you will do

Summer is peak season in Cape Town, and private homes and guesthouses need extra hands to look after their guests.

A seasonal domestic worker keeps a home or guesthouse clean, neat and ready for guests. Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living areas.

In guesthouses the day centres on the rooms. Stripping and making beds, cleaning bathrooms, restocking amenities and turning rooms around between check out and check in.

Private homes cover general housekeeping. Laundry, ironing, dishes and keeping the house in order while the family is on holiday.

Some placements include simple meal prep or serving breakfast.

Hours depend on the placement. Some are day work and some are live in for the season.

What you need

•

At least 1 year of domestic, housekeeping or cleaning experience

•

Contactable references from a previous employer

•

Clear criminal record

•

South African ID or valid work permit

•

Confident with laundry, ironing and making beds to a guest standard
