About Next Job

Built for the person looking for work.

Next Job began years ago with a simple belief: that looking for work in South Africa should be fair. It started under Zanephilo Investments, from an idea one of our founders could not let go of, and it has been growing and changing ever since.

Along the way we redesigned it, rebuilt it, and made plenty of mistakes. Those mistakes taught us the most important lesson we know.

We had been listening to the wrong people.

Like most platforms, we had been building for opinions and for the companies doing the hiring. Very few people were building for the person who actually needed the work. So we changed the question. Instead of asking what features we could add, we started asking what problems we could remove.

A hopeful job seeker in South Africa

Built by people who understand work.

This is not the work of one person. It was built by a team that knows work from the ground up, and knows people. Trusted colleagues from the industry, digital experts, and specialists in how people are understood and assessed, including a psychologist and a psychometrist.

The right minds, around a clear belief, all pulling in the same direction.

What we chose to build.

While much of the world raced to add complexity, we focused on removing it, and on solving real problems.

A free professional CV

Built in a clean, standard format. No needless complexity. Just a proper CV, built with thoughtful design, free for everyone.

Applying made simple

Less time fighting technology, more time applying. Build your CV once, then apply for any job in a single tap.

Talk on the platform

No more heavy email chains and lost attachments. Employers and candidates can message each other directly, right here.

Clearer, fairer jobs

We are working towards every job showing a salary range and clear detail, so you always know what you are applying for.

The part we are most proud of

Silence is not acceptable.

Every applicant deserves the courtesy of a reply. Employers on Next Job are expected to respond, whether the answer is yes or no. Respect and consideration should be part of looking for work, and nobody should ever be left wondering.

A note from our founder

The idea behind Next Job started with a conversation, and a feeling that people deserved better than silence and broken systems. It took years, a lot of failure, and a team I am proud of to make it real.

Whether you are looking for your first job or your next step up, I hope you feel seen here. That is the whole point.
