Festive season is the busiest trading period of the year for a luxury boutique, and the seasonal team carries the floor through it.
A customer assistant looks after clients from the moment they walk in. Greeting them, understanding what brought them in, showing the pieces and helping them choose.
Product knowledge matters in this environment. Materials, craftsmanship, care instructions and the story behind each piece, because clients spending this kind of money ask real questions.
Gift wrapping, stock replenishment and keeping displays immaculate fill the quieter moments.
Sales go through the till, and every piece is checked and logged for security.
There is a store target and an individual one, with commission paid on sales.
Trading hours run long through November, December and early January, including weekends and public holidays.
Grade 12
At least 1 year in retail, and boutique or premium retail counts for more
Clear spoken English, and a second South African language helps a lot
Confident talking to clients and comfortable with high value items
Comfortable working to a sales target
Experience with jewellery, watches, fashion or cosmetics is a plus
